1. General

For each project the Pre-Sales Consultant has an end to end responsibility in the engineering of the solution as well as in the generation of the offer. He takes the lead of the bid team, which is composed of Tein technical specialists as well as external parties whenever deemed necessary.
The Pre-sales Consultant also has a crucial role towards specific strategic customers. Through a good understanding of the business of those customers, as well as an understanding of technological evolutions, the Pre-sales consultant shall advise the customer on the future evolution of his solution.
The position is based in Brussels; interactions - including meetings - with colleagues based in Amstelveen ( Netherlands) might occasionally be required.
As a result of a continuous increase of business opportunities, we are looking to complement our pre-sales team with an additional Pre-sales Consultant with a focus on the Video surveillance and Physical security domain.
2. Responsibilities
The primary task of a Pre-Sales Consultant is to collect and analyze the requirements of the customer, engineer a technical solution, and calculate the costs thereof. The result of these processes is the delivery of an innovative and competitive solution for the client. The position covers all the aspect related to the preparation of an offer, including internal coordination with account managers and technology specialists, and external coordination with vendors and partners.
The Pre-Sales Consultant teams up with a group of engineers within the Commercial Division. He takes the lead of the bid team, and has end responsibility for delivering the offer corresponding to the customers needs and budget, within the imposed timing.
You will report to the Pre-Sales Unit Manager.
Your responsibility includes the following tasks :
- Analysis of the customer requirements ; detection and documentation of the potential risks related to the project.
- Engineering the solution with regard to the necessary products - hardware and software -and resources; calculation of parts and labor.
- Applying internal processes during offer phase in view of risk management.
- Act as project leader in the offer phase; integrate all the solution blocks in the offer.
- Coordinate the necessary actions with the Sales Assistant in order to produce a complete and well rounded offer.
- Provide technical support to the Key Account Managers during solution positioning and proposal negotiation.
3. Position's requirements
3.1. Education & knowledge
- Civil or Industrial Engineer;
- Expertise in the Video surveillance and Physical security domain: digital video, physical security, IP networks, wireless networking.
3.2. Work experience
- Technical/Commercial work experience.
- Several years relevant experience with major accounts for the delivery of customized solutions.
- Experience with Government projects is an asset.
3.3. Required Skills
- Mother tongue Dutch or French, fluent in both languages is an asset; fluent in English.
- Excellent contact in face-to-face meetings with customers.
- Ability to lead project/bid teams composed of internal and external members.
- Writing skills : ability to give a logical structure to a text, ability to make a solution description attractive from the customer's point of view.
- Capability to show empathy for customer needs.
- Well organized, autonomous; ability to focus on results.
