CCTV for the surveillance of parkings in Zaventem - Start of operations scheduled end of first quarter 2006
In December 2005, Cegelec orders to Tein Telecom the supply of a videosurveillance system for Inter-parking sa, to be implemented in the newly constructed Front Park 3 at the international airport of Zaventem.
The parking areas are monitored by a total of 60 fixed cameras and about 30 dome-cameras.

The cameras are connected to Discovery 2400S chassis from VisioWave, which are spread over technical rooms throughout the entire area in view of rationalizing the cabling. The chassis are fitted with a dual Ethernet 100 Mbps interface.
The video flows generated by the chassis in IP format are transported to the central technical room via a dedicated network; all the IP video flows are converging on an Ethernet switch in view of being made available to the Dispatching room.
The system design allows to re-direct the video images to a back-up dispatching.
The agents operating the dispatching have full control over the camera network via the Simba application, which they operate through a very intuitive GUI on their workstations. All cameras are recorded for post-event analysis; the recording modules are configured with a capacity of one month archiving.
Because of the huge archive capacity required, and in order not to overload the network, the recording modules have been de-centralized on each Discouvery 2400S chassis.
