Beginning of 2005, the Flemish Government selected Tein Telecom for the supply, the commissioning and the maintenance of a large network for the remote monitoring and the videosurveillance of the Ghent-Terneuzen channel.

The deployed system covers 17 sites.

The goal of this 1.5 millions-worth project is to monitor the navigation and control the docks along the channel with cameras.

The project is realized with the consortium between Fabricom GTI and Tein Telecom. Fabricom GTI is responsible for the infrastructure works (mates, cameras, optical fibre, electrical power supplies, etc.)

Tein Telecom is charged with the implementation of a Gigabit Ethernet backbone network including about twenty nodes, the transmission of images from 38 cameras via the network, the visualisation of images on a Barco wall, as well as the system management.
