In August 2005, the videosurveillance project of the Ieper Business Park (ex-FLV "Flanders Language Valley) is assigned by W.V.I to Tein Telecom.

The system consists in an IP network equipped with elements allowing the transport of images via wireless links established between buildings and masts supporting the cameras. The installed system allows a real-time surveillance of the site from a control centre.

The captured images can also be transmitted in real-time to another control centre, as well as to a surveillance company or the police force.

The system includes 2 dome cameras installed in a central and high position in order to get a panoramic view of the site. Furthermore, 2 fixed cameras are used to record car number plates coming in and out of the Business Park in order to investigate on incident cases.

On longer term, it is foreseen to extend the functionalities of the system to the recognition of car number plates allowing the automatic generation of alarms when a vehicle tracked by the police force is identified.

The system allows the recording of images as well as the simultaneous visualisation in real-time of cameras. The delivered solution includes Codecs of the manufacturer Visiowave. The real-time management is realized via the graphical interface Simba, totally developed by Tein Telecom.
